Run for Their Lives 5K Fun Run

Fun Run 5K Fundraiser benefiting Arlington Animal Services Cruelty Fund.

Join Arlington Animal Services at this dog-friendly "Run for Their Lives" 5k fundraiser and Wag-O-Ween fall festival! All proceeds from 5k registration go to our animal cruelty fund, which provides medical care, supplies and rehab for animals recovered during animal cruelty cases. We have a full schedule of activities for all ages (and number of paws!), food trucks, a door prizes, a pet costume contest, and all kinds of local Arlington vendors.

In consideration for receiving permission for myself (and/or my minor child) to participate in the Run for Their Lives 5K Fun Run, I AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE CITY OF ARLINGTON, ITS OFFICIALS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, EVENT SPONSORS, AND ORGANIZERS FROM ANY CLAIMS, DEMANDS, SUITS, OR JUDGMENTS ARISING FROM ANY DAMAGES RESULTING FROM A CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION MADE BY ME OR ANYONE ON MY BEHALF REGARDLESS OF ANY ALLEGED FAULT, NEGLIGENCE OR JOINT ENTERPRISE BY THE CITY OF ARLINGTON OR EVENT ORGANIZERS.   It is further agreed that the execution of this release shall not constitute a waiver by the City of Arlington of the defense of governmental immunity or any other defense.

I grant permission for the City of Arlington and event organizers to use my and/or my minor child(ren)’s visual depiction, voice, or likeness for training, advertising, publicity, and promotion. I hold the City of Arlington harmless from any liability resulting from such publicity.

 

The information in this registration form is accurate, complete, and subject to verification. I understand that participation is voluntary. Supplemental accident insurance may provide excess coverage only over existing personal insurance during scheduled event hours. Event coordinators reserve the right to dismiss any participant who fails to comply with event rules or safety standards.

 

I further attest that I am the parent or guardian of the minor child named above, and that I have the legal right and authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of the minor and myself.

  

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and my pet’s participation in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants or animals, weather conditions, traffic, and course obstacles. I accept full financial and legal liability for any injury, damage, or loss caused by myself or my animal.

 

I agree to have my pet secured on a non-retractable leash no longer than 6ft max.

I agree that my pet will not be wearing a pinch, chain, or choke collar. Gentle leaders, harnesses, martingale collars, head halters, and humane muzzles (such as basket muzzles) are acceptable.

I confirm that my pet is up to date on all required vaccinations, specifically Rabies, and holds a valid current city license in compliance with local animal control ordinances.

I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my pet’s behavior. If my pet exhibits aggressive, disruptive, or unsafe behavior, event organizers reserve the right to require our immediate departure from the event site without a refund.
